About the Artist

Greetings,

I’m Jessie Meehan, a rigorously curious, self-taught artist living in rural Virginia, originally from Chicagoland. I work primarily in acrylics and explore a variety of mediums, cultivating creativity as a daily practice.

My work is inspired by nature, the subconscious, and an impulse to uncover or create rhythmic pattern. Learning through trial, error, and experimentation has led me to a diverse range of subjects and compositions.

Whether working from photographs, life, or stream of consciousness, painting is a necessary form of expression. Each piece is deeply personal, yet I aim to create work that resonates with others who also seek meaning in the world around them.
